Cemetery in Offaly to get 300 more grave plots following major extension

A cemetery in Offaly is to get 300 more grave plots following the extension of the town's graveyard.

Tom Shanahan, Director of Services, told the July meeting of Offaly County Council that St Mary's Cemetery in Edenderry is to be extended. This extension work will include roadwork and landscaping work.

He add that whether the cemetery will be a lawn cemetery or a conventional cemetery will be decided on by Edenderry Municipal District.

Cllr Noel Cribben commented that this extension will be very welcome in Edenderry.
