Durrow garden sculpture auction: Maureen O'Hara carriage, bronze animal statues and architectural ornaments on show at Glantelwe Gardens, Laois

A secret garden along the Erkina river in Durrow, Laois, was the setting last weekend for a striking display of garden sculptures and architectural ornaments valued in the millions of euro.

Glantelwe Gardens was transformed by renowned garden designer Arthur Shackleton, who worked with Sheppard’s Auction House to create an atmospheric backdrop for the collection.

The garden was dotted with sculptures of tigers, lions, deer, horses, frogs, crocodiles, pigs and dogs of various breeds - all crafted in stone and bronze.placeholder image
