Delighted Shane Lowry wins his first match at Ryder Cup as Europe get off to a flying start

Shane Lowry has won his first match at the Ryder Cup as Europe are getting off to a flying start.
Shane was out early this morning in the Foursomes alongside Austrian Sepp Straka and a brilliant front nine set them on course to a 2 & 1 win over Colin Morikawa and Rickie Fowler.
That win was the third of the morning for Europe with John Rahm and Tyrell Hatton beating Scottie Scheffler and Sam Burns 4 & 3 while Victor Hovland and Ludvig Aberg overcame Brian Harman and Max Homa by the same margin.
The final match of the day saw Rory McIlroy and Tommy Fleetwood overcome the star American pairing of Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay by 2 & 1 giving Europe a clean sweep and a 4-0 lead after the first morning.
Shane Lowry will not be in action in the fourballs this afternoon.
The afternoon fourball match ups are as follows.
Hovland/Hatton v Thomas/Spieth
Rahm/Hojgaard v Scheffler/Koepka
MacIntyre/Rose v Homa/Clark
McIlroy/Fitzpatrick v Morikawa/Schauffele
