Gardai awaiting DPP directions in Offaly assault case

GARDAI are still awaiting directions from the DPP in relation to the case of a man who is alleged to have assaulted a woman causing her harm.

Philip Perry (32) of Park View, Edenderry, is charged with committing the offence contrary to section 3 of the non fatal offences against the person act, at the same address on a date between July 28, 2024 and July 29, 2024.

The solicitor for Mr Perry, who appeared by video link from prison, was not in court. Mr Perry told the judge it was alright but Judge Cody said it wasn't as he had no one to represent him.

He remanded Mr Perry in custody to appear by video link at the district court sitting of October 16, 2024.
