Offaly County Council has given the go ahead to convert a former pub in the county into a shop and deli with a café while also adding a number of apartments

Milne's pub was a very popular feature on Swag Street and Barrack Street in Crinkill for many years, but it has been dormant for a number of years.

The applicant for the new development is Patrick Rogers Electrical Limited.

The plans will see the pub being converted into a shop and deli with a cafe area. The development will also include a two bedroom apartment on the ground floor, and a change of use on the first floor from private residential to three apartments. Alterations to the west elevation will include a new window and door, ramps, balconies and the removal of the existing chimney and new signage.placeholder image

The boundary wall to the west will be demolished to increase the parking area to four spaces with the provision of bin storage and a sliding entrance gate.

Planning permission was granted with 14 conditions attached including a stipulation that opening hours shall be between 7.30am and 10.30pm.
