A man charged with criminal damage and being intoxicated was remanded on continuing bail when he appeared at last week's district court.

Brooklyn Lowbridge (20) 6,Whitefield, Cloghan had used or engaged in threatening or abusive words or behaviour at John's Mall, Birr on February 23, 2024 and on the same date he was intoxicated to such an extent that it would give reasonable apprehension that he might endanger himself or others.

In her evidence, Sergeant Justine Reilly said that he also had damaged three pint glasses in the Palace Bar, in Birr, the property of Nadia Clancy.

Judge Andrew Cody ordered Mr Lowbridge to stay out of the Palace Bar on Main Street in Birr.

He was given court bail until May 1. Judge Cody told Mr Lowbridge's solicitor that he would defer legal aid until a statement of means had been handed in to the court.
