A MAN was fined €250 for a breach of the peace after an incident in a public house in Kinnitty.

Michael Connors (28), 7 Cluain Raighne, Banagher, pleaded guilty at Tullamore District Court to public drunkenness and the breach of the peace at Main Street, Kinnitty on February 27 last.

Garda David Lewis told the court that Mr Connors had been acting in a threatening manner towards staff in the Slieve Bloom Bar at 12.20am.

Last month he had been convicted of a breach of the peace for an offence committed in May, 2022.

Defending solicitor Donal Farrelly said his client, a married man on disability because of mental health issues, had too much to drink on the night.
