Man fined for driving with unrestrained children in vehicle in Offaly

A DRIVER who drove unaccompanied also had two children in the car who were not restrained.

Iulian Ionel Dumitru, of 7, St Patrick's Wood, Edenderry, was stopped by Garda Trevor Mullins at the same address on August 24, 2023.

Solicitor Patrick Martin said Mr Dumitru was a 36 year old man with four children. He had been in Ireland for five years and was on disability.

Judge Nicola Andrews said she was quite concerned about the children being unrestrained in the car.She fined Mr Dumitru €500 and gave him six month to pay.

She took the other matters into consideration, in light of his guilty plea.

She said that if he comes before the court again he will face the consequences.
