Man hospitalised after early morning incident in the Midlands

Gardai have launched an investigation after a man required hospital treatment after an incident in the Midlands.

Gardaí were alerted to an incident which took place in College Avenue, on Wednesday night into Thursday morning, February 15 and 16, from 12.30am to 1am. 

A man suffered non-life threatening injuries. He was taken first to Portlaoise and then to Tullamore hospital, and later discharged.

The Gardaí are carrying out door to door enquiries in the housing estate.
