A MAN accused of assault and producing an iron bar in a dispute has been sent for trial at Tullamore Circuit Court.

Stephen Hoey (36), Arden View, Tullamore, is alleged to have assaulted Vitalli Otryshko, causing him harm, on March 1, 2021 at Arden View.

A book of evidence was served at Tullamore District Court last week by Garda Stacey O'Brien.

An application for legal aid was made by defending solicitor, Aisling Maloney, who said Mr Hoey was a father of four young children.

Judge Cephas Power granted legal aid, assigning Ms Maloney as the accused's solicitor, along with one counsel.

He remanded Mr Hoey on his own bail of €200 to appear at the Circuit Court on April 5 next.
