OFFALY'S 3-22 to 0-11 defeat by Dublin in the Leinster Senior Football Championship semi-final on Sunday has been greeted by a surprising reaction. Instead of the “keyboard warriors” having a field day as they call for heads and demand action, the response has not only been surprisingly mute but it has been borderline positive.

Jack McEvoy Jack McEvoy got on a good bit of ball and covered a lot of ground. The end product wasn't always there but he had very good spells and clearly enjoyed playing in Croke Park. Rating – 6.

Dylan Hyland It took Dylan Hyland a while to get into the game but once he adjusted, he was good. He converted his frees, stroked over a very good '45' and got two from play. He also went through the game without picking up a card of any colour, which is always a positive for the Raheen man. Rating – 7.

Ruari McNamee You have to admire the way Ruari McNamee empties the tank every time he goes out. His legs aren't able to do what they once did but he will always run himself into the ground. He got on some ball here in the first half and gave good passes but was called ashore at half time. Rating – 6.

Jordan Hayes Jordan Hayes had been struggling for his best form in some of the league games but has improved significantly in the championship. He got an excellent goal against Laois and had a reasonable game here, carrying some good ball forward and kicking a nice point. Rating – 7.
