Massive fine for parking on double yellow lines in Offaly town

A FINE of €700 was imposed on a man who did not appear before Tullamore District Court when he was summonsed for a parking offence.

Garda David Harney prosecuted Viorel Costinel Dumitru, Ard na Caraige, Edenderry, for parking on double yellow lines at Granary Court Road, Edenderry on January 18, 2023.

Garda Harney told Judge Andrew Cody a fixed charge penalty notice had been issued but it had not been paid.

Mr Dumitru had a previous conviction for failing to produce an NCT certificate in March and had been fined €400.

Judge Cody gave the man three months to pay the €700 fine.
