Mixed reaction to new filter light at major junction in Tullamore

There has been a mixed reaction to new filter light at Scally's junction on the Arden road in Tullamore. 

There has been a mixed reaction to the new system. Some have welcomed the filter while others say the situation is as bad as ever.

Some say that cars are getting stuck in the yellow box while waiting for the filter light to appear in order to turn right, Sometimes the filter light doesn't appear and this adds to the congestion in the area.

There have been some accidents at the junction and it has been a topic of debate at a number of Tullamore Municipal District meetings.

However the new system has been welcomed by Councillor Declan Harvey who said that the problem there is hopefully resolved.

"It will help relieve pressure on the traffic and allow people to cross over safely. I have been looking for this to be done on numerous occasions, hopefully now it will be resolved. I want to thank Tullamore Municipal District for dealing with the issue,'' said Cllr Harvey.
