A MAN who threw an ignited firework into a Tullamore filling station is facing further charges, the local District Court was told.

Judge Andrew Cody heard that Jake Colleran (19), Esker Court, Clara is also being prosecuted for dangerous driving and having no insurance.

The latest charges follow an appearance by Mr Colleran in court where Judge Cody heard that when he threw the firework into the Apple Green service station at Main Street, Tullamore, it landed at the left foot of a woman, leaving her with ringing in her ears and a sensation in her foot.

At that court appearance, Judge Cody said the teenager could have blown up half of Tullamore.

The charges against Mr Colleran were adjourned to February 15 next year.
