Offaly actor nominated for IFTA after incredible performance

TULLAMORE actor Sam Keeley has been nominated for an IFTA 'Irish Film and Television Award' in the Lead Actor category for his portrayal of Eric ‘’Viking’’ Kinsella in the RTE television drama Kin.
Sam won critical acclaim for his portrayal of the unhinged Eric in the gritty story of a fictional Dublin family embroiled in a gangland war.
31-year-old Sam got his first major acting break in the role of Philip in the RTÉ's hit television series Raw. He later appeared in the films Burnt, Monsters: Dark Continent, The Siege of Jadotville, In the Heart of the Sea and The Cured.
Sam will be up against stiff competition with fellow Kin star Aidan Gillen nominated in the same category. Ciaran Hinds is in the best supporting actor category.
Kin received 13 nominations in total, among them Best Drama and Best Director.
