Offaly company's staff shave beards and moustaches for good causes

A CHARITY shave organised by local energy company Lumcloon raised €2,000 for two local charities last week.
Men gathered in Spollen's bar last Friday (November 25) to have their beards and moustaches shorn off and all money raised was donated to the Dochas Offaly cancer support service and Accessible Counselling Tullamore. Both charities received €1,000 each.

Dochas is a cancer support group which provides cancer support services to people throughout the Midlands whose lives have been affected by cancer.
Accessible Counselling Tullamore (ACT) is a Tullamore-based community counselling centre that supports people in the community to maintain positive mental health by providing accessible counselling services.
Nigel Reams said: “Lumcloon Energy is delighted to be able to support two great local charities, Dochas Offaly Cancer Support and Accessible Counselling Tullamore and to raise awareness for men’s health by embracing moustaches for the month of November. Thanks to the Tullamore Community Training Centre team, in particular the two barbers who did the all-important moustache shaving, and to Spollen's bar for hosting the very successful event.”
