Offaly County Council planning to build a number of houses in Tullamore

Offaly County Council is proposing to construct 20 houses at Chancery Lane in Tullamore.
The development will consist of four one-bed single storey houses, eight two-bed two storey terrace /semi-detached houses, six three-bed two storey terrace/semi-detached houses, one four-bed and one three-bed storey and a half semi-detached houses.
The local authority says the development was the subject of an appropriate assessment (AA) screening in accordance with the EU Habitats Directive and the Planning and Development Act 2000 as amended. The AA screening concluded the proposed development would not be likely to give rise to significant or indeterminate impacts on any European site.
The council also carried out a preliminary examination (nature, size, location) of the proposed development and determined there are no significant effects on the environment and it does not require an Environmental Impact Assessment.
Anyone wishing to make a submission or observation on the proposal can do so up to April 14, 2022. They can also apply to An Bord Pleanála for a screening determination as to whether the development would be likely to have significant effects on the environment.
Plans and particulars are available for inspection or purchase at Offaly County Council up to April 14 at 12 noon.
