Offaly football championship quarter-final pairings to be decided
THE quarter-final pairings in the Tullamore Court Hotel Senior “B” and Intermediate Football Championships will be decided this weekend when the final round of group fixtures take place.
Senior “B” Football Championship
Clara and Cappincur have been the two form teams in the Senior “B” Football Championship so far.
Cappincur are assured of top spot in group 1 and will play the losers of Walsh Island and Gracefield in the quarter-finals.
The winner of Clara and Daingean will top group 2 – a draw will do Clara – and they will play Ballycumber in a quarter-final. The loser of Clara and Daingean will meet the losers of Clonbullogue and Tubber in a quarter-final. The winner of Clonbullogue and Tubber will meet the winners of Walsh Island and Gracefield in the other quarter-final.
All four games are down for 6.45pm on Saturday evening and fixtures are:
Group 1
Tubber v Clonbullogue in Mucklagh
Verdict – Clonbullogue.
Cappincur v Ballycumber in Ballycommon
Verdict – Cappincur.
Group 2
Gracefield v Walsh Island in Bracknagh
Verdict – Gracefield.
Daingean v Clara in Durrow
Verdict – Clara.
Intermediate Football Championship
There is plenty at stake in the final round of group games in the Intermediate Football Championship.
St Brigid's are assured of top spot in group 2 and will play the losers of St Rynagh's and Kilcormac-Killoughey in the quarter-finals.
The winners of Ferbane and Erin Rovers will top group 1 and will play Raheen in the quarter-finals. The loser of Tullamore and Ballinagar will meet the losers of Ferbane and Erin Rovers or Kilcormac-Killoughey in the quarter-finals. The winner of Tullamore and Ballinagar could end up playing any of St Rynagh's, Kilcormac-Killoughey, Ferbane or Erin Rovers in the quarter-finals.
The final round takes place on Saturday at 4pm and fixtures are:
