SEVERAL Offaly GAA County Board committees were approved at their January meeting last week.

The meeting also saw Brendan Minnock of Shamrocks elected as assistant secretary, replacing Christy Todd, Ballycommon who stepped down at Convention. Formerly PRO of the board, Minnock had served as Planning Officer last year. Planning Officer is an appointment by the Chairman and Michael Duignan told delegates that he will have to get a new person to fulfil the role.

Normally Assistant Secretary serves as secretary to the Competitions Control Committee but not this year. Instead former Offaly and Leinster Council delegate Pat Teehan will do that, though he won't be on the County Board Management Committee.
