Offaly gardai involved in operation in Tullamore town centre this afternoon
Unmarked garda cars and several officers seen at apartment on busy street
A GARDA operation took place in Tullamore town centre this afternoon.
At least three unmarked garda cars were on Harbour Street and several officers, both uniformed and in plain clothes, and some wearing blue gloves, were seen going in and out of an apartment.
A young woman left the first floor apartment and returned before a number of young men came downstairs in the company of gardai.
They all then made their way to another residential premises on Chapel Street where one man could be seen waving a mobile phone in the direction of gardai.
A business premises adjacent to the ground floor entrance to the apartment was locked when gardai knocked on the door and window.
One of the addresses has previously been of interest to gardai.
It is understood no one was arrested during the operation on Tuesday afternoon.
