Offaly gardaí stop overloaded van with 'extremely dangerous' seat added in the back

Gardaí in Offaly pulled over a van with 'too many passengers' including children who were not wearing a seat belt.

A spokesperson for An Garda Síochána said: "Offaly Roads Policing Unit stopped this van this afternoon after they noticed there were too many front seat passengers.

"When pulled in, they confirmed there were nine people including three children aged ten, nine and two travelling in the five seater-vehicle.

"None of the nine passengers were wearing seatbelts and the chair added in the back was extremely dangerous - to put it mildly."
