Offaly students enjoy fantastic talk on organic farming

FIFTH Year Agricultural Science class from Banagher College Colaiste na Sionna were treated to a fantastic talk on the topic of Organic Farming from Sean Clancy, when they visited “The Organic Kitchen” at Lough Boora on Wednesday last.

Sean outlined exactly why he farms organically. He went on to speak about the importance of understanding your soil, crop rotation and working with nature.

The students also appreciated a talk by Sean Doyle, from Bord na Móna, on the subject of “The Ecology of the Bog”.
