One club could be on course for remarkable quadruple in Offaly football championships
Their four teams in the Offaly Football Championships have played eight games and still have a 100% record
It is early days in the Football Championships in Offaly and there are still a lot of games to be played but one club could be in with a chance of pulling off a remarkable quadruple of titles this year.
Tullamore have four teams in the football championships, Senior, Intermediate, Junior B and Junior C and so far they have a combined 100% record through eight games.
In the Senior Football Championship, Tullamore have won one from one with a 17 point victory over Bracknagh. They are second in Group 2 to Shamrocks on score difference. Having won three of the last four championships, and the last two back to back, Tullamore are the favourites to win the title but there are other teams who will certainly believe they can stop the hat-trick.
In the Intermediate Football Championship, Tullamore top Group 1 with two wins from two and a score difference of plus 27. Raheen top Group 2, also with two wins from two and with a score difference of plus eight.
In the Junior B Football Championship, Tullamore top Group 2 with three consecutive wins and score difference of plus 47. Ballyfore top Group 1 with the same winning record and a score difference of plus 37.
In the Junior C Football Championship, Tullamore top Group 4 with two wins from two and have a score difference of plus 21. This looks like it could be a very competitive championship with five teams across the four groups having 100% records - Tullamore, Edenderry, Raheen, Kinnitty and Lusmagh.
It is only August and there is obviously a long way to go but with eight wins in eight games, the four Tullamore teams look set to be at lest very much in the hunt for a remarkable quadruple of titles.
