The Club is now seeking to expand operations, through the establishment of the ‘Offaly Aviation Training Centre’, which it says will be an all inclusive amenity that will benefit the local area and will be an asset to the local community, local schools and educational institutions, local business, enterprises, whilst providing a broad range of transferable skills to various industries, and enhancing local tourism.
The aim of the ‘Offaly Aviation Training Centre’ at Benfield Airfield, will be an environmentally sustainable purpose built building, which comprises an aircraft hangar, with the ability to create internal classrooms, and areas for providing theory and practical flight and aircraft maintenance training. It will be the first of its kind, focusing and actively promoting environmental sustainability, working towards reducing the carbon footprint associated with aviation.
