Angela died recently

Members of the Ready organisation have paid tribute to Angela Moran who died recently .

PRO Phil Newton paid this homage. ''We are all sad to lose Angela from this world. Her journey was not always an easy one, yet she made an impression upon all who knew her. I recall she was a tiny little lady when I first came to the Marian Hostel in Tullamore in 1978.

I remember she had the tiniest little feet I ever chanced to see, and boy could she make good use of them.

Angela was very much part of our time in the Marian Hostel, and all the girls there, had great regard for her. She was one of the few residents who kept her room tidy, even though it had lots of teddy bears!

Angela also had a great love of country and western music, and collected many tapes/LPs. She loved listening to Daniel O’Donnell. Methinks she had a wee crush on Daniel,'' said Phil.

''Angela was also an active member of Ready in its formative years. Those were our Riada House Tuesday evenings, and Angela spent many hours helping with the sandwich making, the distribution of teas along with the washing up and tidying up afterwards.

She travelled the length and breadth of the country with us on our outings. Day trips in those days were to anywhere we could get a glimpse of the sea. I have fond recollections of Angela, Bridie Byrne and Roisin, the High Street Trio keeping us all in check!

Angela loved her clothes, and always dressed really well. Allen’s Shop in High Street would always have something to tempt her. She would sometimes boast that she had met some of the politicians from Leinster House in one house she worked.

Seemingly the late Jack Lynch shared kind words with her. She said he was “a very nice man” for a politician.

Time passes for all of us, and Angela’s health fell into decline. Eventually she enjoyed the comfort and kindness of neighbours in her lovely home in both Lann Elo and Tihilly Estate. Angela ascended into spirit this January in the kind and considerate care of the nurses and staff of Ferbane Nursing Home.

Fr.Joe Campbell celebrated a lovely funeral Mass for her on Saturday 11.

Hostel Friends travelled from Roscommon to say a final goodbye to Angela. Roisin’s sister Marie travelled from Malahide to be part of the final farewell. Angela would have been a proud woman at her own funeral.

After her Mass, Angela’s remains were interred in Boher Cemetery. Eddie Walsh shared some lovely memories of Angela at her graveside, and the important part she played in their lives as children.

She will always be remembered as a unique, god fearing soul who was kind to all who crossed her path. May she fly high with angels, embraced by the light of the infinite beginning. READY Organisation extend our sincere sympathy to all who have had the privilege of sharing time with Angela,'' said Phil .
