Rush for train ticket refunds from Limerick on All Ireland Final Sunday expected after loss to Dublin
Irish Rail might have to brace for a run on ticket refunds for All Ireland Senior Hurling Final Sunday after Limerick's shock loss to Dublin in Croke Park on Saturday.
According to a report from the Limerick Leader, after the Munster Final, trains departing both Limerick and Cork to Dublin on July 20 for the All Ireland Senior Hurling Final had sold out.
Given that Limerick were only through to a quarter-final it showed either remarkable confidence or arrogance from their supporters. Whichever it was, it was misplaced after they lost to a Dublin side who played the majority of the game with 14 players.
The report said that the 8:25am train leaving Limerick’s Colbert station on Sunday, July 20 has sold out.
Cork might now be nervous as the morning slots on Sunday, July 20 from Charleville to Dublin’s Heuston are also sold out. Both the 9am and 11am trains set to depart on that Sunday from the town of Charleville are sold out.
And the Iarnród Éireann website is also indicating that the 8:25am and 10:25am trains from Cork Kent station have also sold out on the same day.
