THE Tullamore Stage School's production of Christmas Unwrapped garnered a standing ovation

at the end of a spectacular concert in the Church of the Assumption on Tuesday night, December 20.

Featuring the School's Youth Choir, Chamber Orchestra and the Ladies Choir the audience were enthralled with the level of talent on display.

Under the direction of Regina McCarthy, the younger members sang and performed with an exceptionally high level of competency and confidence and were a joy to listen to.

The orchestra were fabulous especially Carol of the Bells and their accompaniment to the Ladies Choir on The First Noel Pachelbel Canon.

The Youth Choir sang a range of great carols and songs including, Walking in the Air, Spaceman Came Travelling and Calypso Carol with some great solo artists.

Meanwhile the Ladies Choir were also superb, singing all the old favourites including White Christmas, While Shepherds Watched and many more. Soloists performed Oh Holy Night, Wind in the Willows and Chestnuts Roasting.

After the concert praise was lavished on Director Regina McCarthy for her contribution to music and the arts in Tullamore.

This was only the second performance for the Ladies Choir which was formed last September.

There are 70 members and span a range of ages. The ladies all report loving the choir and the camaraderie between them.
