Strong finish for Shane Lowry at Irish Open after weather affected final round

Shane Lowry produced a strong final round at the Irish Open at the K Club to finish his home Open in a tie for third place.

Shane entered the final round in 13th place but a four under par 68 shot him up the leaderboard into a tie for third place.

He was just two shots behind the winner, Vincent Norrman of Sweden. Norrman shot an excellent final round of seven under par to shoot up from 20th into first on the final day.

Rory McIlroy fell away in the final round to eventually finish in a tie for 16th after carding a double bogey and a triple bogey in his final round.

Play at the K Club went on far longer than expected as there was a lengthy delay due to heavy rain and thunderstorms.
