While there is plenty more rain on the way for Ireland this week in the latest Met Eireann weather forecast, there is hope that better weather might not be too far away

While there is plenty more rain on the way for Ireland this week in the latest Met Eireann weather forecast, there is hope that better weather might not be too far away.

According to the Met Eireann monthly weather forecast for Ireland, high pressure is set to become more dominant over Ireland later in April bringing with it drier and warmer than average conditions.

For this week, the weather for Ireland looks set to be mixed with Tuesday set to bring sunny spells and isolated showers while Wedensday will be dull and misty with outbreaks of rain continuing for much of the day.

There looks set to be an improvement on Thursday with Met Eireann forecasting a dry day with sunny spells and showers before rain moves across the country in the evening.

According to Met Eireann, the weather is looking decidedly unpleasent for Friday and the weekend with rain forecast across the country on Friday before it becomes cooler with spells of rain and showers over the weekend.

However the weather could pick up next week.

According to the Met Eireann extended range weather forecast for Ireland, signals are a bit uncertain but there is a general trend towards high pressure to become positioned to the west or southwest of Ireland with low pressure to the east over southern Scandinavia and central Europe. This situation would likely produce near average or drier than normal conditions over Ireland. Temperatures look likely to be close to the average for mid-April.

For the following week, April 22 to April 28, Met Eireann's extended range forecast says that there are tentative indications that high pressure will become more of a dominant feature over Ireland through the remainder of April. Under this scenario, generally settled and drier than average conditions would be favoured. Temperatures look likely to trend slightly above average.
