'That's beats Banagher' - People baffled by mystery door at Offaly supermarket

The post went viral on social media with people left baffled but some did offer reasons why it's there
People on social media have been left baffled by a picture of a door that seemingly leads to nowhere at an Offaly supermarket.
Newstalk presenter and broadcaster Anton Savage caused the debate on X when he published the photo of the door on the roof of SuperValu in Banagher at the weekend.
He posted: "I have thought about few things as deeply as this door in the SuperValu in Banagher."
People jumped into the comments to share their confusion but some others offered reasons why the door might be there.
One witty commenter said the odd door "beats Banagher" while another said it might have been the "inspiration behind Bosco's magic door." A third asked if it might lead to Narnia.
A local said: "Well spotted, Anton. Have been shopping there for years and never noticed this door."
Some sensible X users suggested plausible reasons for the door's strange position.
One man said it could be "a plant room for access only to replace equipment." Some else said it was a "vented door."
A third said: "Plant and access to the roof. Locked from inside only."
