Toilets, caretakers office and bandstand on the way for Lloyd Town Park

New toilets, a caretakers office and bandstand are to be installed this year in the Lloyd Town park in Tullamore.

At the January meeting of Tullamore Municipal District, Senior Executive Officer Jean Ryan said suppliers have been appointed and they are all under construction at their various premises.

''They will be modular units and they will be completed by the deadline which is May,'' she said.

Funding is from the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media Outdoor Public Space Scheme and the council also has General Municipal Allocation funding.

In addition funding is available to the municipal district to repair the water feature in the park which has been out of action for some time. Ms Ryan said the council is seeking further funding to finish it and the aim is to have it done by the end of this year.
