Tullamore court hears man bought no claims bonus certificate online
A man who bought a fraudulent no claims bonus certificate online came before Judge Andrew Cody at Tullamore District Court.
Nicolae Tuchila of 20, Ard Na Greine, Roscrea, had given the false certificate to 123.ie on February 2022 in order to get an insurance policy. Mr Tuchila had purchased the document on Facebook. He had no insurance.
Barrister Aine Rush said Mr Tuchila is employed and has a child with special needs and his wife is expecting another child.
He is a welder by trade. He had made an admission and is very sorry.
Judge Andrew Cody said if he was willing to make a donation of €500 to the court poor box. He will strike out the summons.
