A WOMAN has been accused of unauthorised possession of a Glock airgun in Birr.

Kathleen Touhy (54) is alleged to have had the Glock 4.5mm CO2 airgun at her address at Drumbane, Birr on February 7 last when its possession was not authorised by a firearms certificate granted under the Firearms Acts 1925-1990.

Ms Touhy appeared at Tullamore District Court recently where she was represented by David Nugent, BL.

Sergeant Brendan Kearns told Judge Andrew Cody that the DPP had directed that the matter could be disposed of summarily and Mr Nugent sought a short adjournment.

Judge Cody remanded Ms Touhy on continuing bail to appear at the December 6 sitting of Tullamore District Court and said that if a hearing is required it should take place on January 6 next.
