Motorist with 27 previous disqualifications arrested in the Midlands after failing drugs test
A motorist with 27 previous disqualifications has been arrested by gardai in the Midlands and now faces court proceedings.
Using the hashtag 'YouCantMakeThisUp' on social media, gardai in Laois say the vehicle was stopped after it was observed driving erratically near Ballyfin.
After stopping the motorist, gardai discovered that the driver was currently disqualified and also tested positive for cocaine.
Gardai say the motorist was arrested and charged to appear before Portlaoise District Court.
The post said, "You’d think after 27 previous disqualifications, this driver would’ve gotten the message. Apparently not."
It added, "We’re not sure if they: (A) Forgot they were banned. (B) Thought we wouldn't notice. (C) Were collecting disqualifications like Pokémon cards. Either way — game over. Court date booked. Car seized. Career in motoring… still over."
