Electric model brings a 300-mile range.

The new Leapmotor B05 has gone on sale with a starting price of £28,995.

Chinese brand Leapmotor has been quickly expanding its UK range, with the B05 following on from models such as the T03 city car and B10 and C10 SUVs.

The electric hatchback, which rivals cars like the Volkswagen ID.3 and MG4, arrives with a 300-mile range and the ability to be charged from 10 to 80 per cent in under 30 minutes thanks to rapid charging capabilities.

With a 215bhp electric motor, the B05 is capable of going from 0-60mph in 6.5 seconds while utilising a dedicated launch control system to maximise acceleration.

Available to order now, the new B03 gets a high level of standard equipment with features such as 19-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof and air conditioning as standard. All cars also get a 14.6-inch infotainment system and an 8.8-inch driver’s display, while 21 driver assistance systems are equipped on all cars as standard too.

As with other Leapmotor vehicles, there are very few optional extras available on the B05 with a choice of a different paint colour the only paid-for extra at £575.

Stellantis says that the B05’s suspension has been specifically tuned for European drivers, too, with a 50-50 weight distribution there to provide the best-possible cornering balance.

The Leapmotor B05’s starting price also includes the brand’s ‘Leap-Grant’ which reduces the price of the car by £1,500.
