Royal Enfield’s classic-looking Bullet 650 is set to arrive in dealerships this week, priced from £6,749.

Standing as one of the ‘world’s oldest motorcycles in continuous production’ according to Royal Enfield, the Bullet 650 has the look and feel of a classic bike but with more modern touches underneath. Originally revealed back at the EICMA show last year, the Bullet 650 has only just arrived in the UK.placeholder image

Originally revealed back at the EICMA show last year, the Bullet 650 has only just arrived in the UK.

Powered by a parallel twin 650cc engine used in a series of other Royal Enfield motorcycles, the Bullet 650 is based around a steel tubular frame but also receives vintage touches such as painted pinstripes and a 3D winged badge.

That engine develops 46.4 bhp and 52.3Nm of torque, driven to the wheel via a six-speed gearbox and a lightweight slipper clutch. A bench seat at a height of 800mm makes the Bullet 650 both comfortable and accessible, while up front you’ll find Showa suspension and a 19-inch wheel, while an 18-inch version sits at the rear.placeholder image

As with the original Bullet, the 650 incorporates a ‘teardrop’ tank and a round LED headlamp, which uses ‘tiger eye’ pilot lamps that hark back to Enfield models of the 1950s. On a more modern front, the Bullet 650 gets a digital LCD readout for all key riding information, including fuel levels, trip and gear.

The new Bullet 650 is expected to arrive in dealerships shortly, with just one colourway – Cannon Black – available for now.
