The search is continuing for a teenage boy who went missing on Saturday while paddleboarding in a Fife loch.

Emergency services were called to Loch Ore, in Loch Ore Meadows, Lochgelly, at about 5.25pm.

Police said they had received a “report of concern” for the boy, 15, who had been out paddleboarding.

A search for the missing teenager was launched, and a coastguard helicopter was deployed alongside coastguard rescue teams from St Andrews, Queensferry and Leven.

“Extensive searches” involving the police and coastguard are continuing on Sunday, and people have been asked to avoid the area.

Temporary air space restrictions are in place in the Lochore Meadows area until 9am on Monday.

Police said restrictions apply to all aircraft, including drones, and that it is a criminal offence to fly in a restricted airspace.

Police said general airspace restriction advice can be found at caa.co.uk.
