Skoda has unveiled a new series of sketches which outline what its upcoming Epiq will look like.

Set for its official debut on May 19, the new Epiq arrives as the brand’s ‘most affordable all-electric compact SUV’ which will arrive as a rival to the likes of the Kia EV2 and Renault 4.

While Skoda hasn’t revealed powertrain details for the new Epiq, it has confirmed that it will sit on the MEB+ platform which is shared with other Volkswagen Group cars such as the Cupra Raval and Volkswagen ID.Cross.placeholder image

As a result, the Epiq should bring a range of up to 282 miles from a charge and will come available with a series of motor output options. Rapid charging capability should mean that the Epiq can be taken from 10 to 80 per cent charge in around 23 minutes, too.

Sitting as a compact SUV, the new Epiq uses Skoda’s ‘Modern Solid’ design with strong, block dimensions giving the car a more purposeful look. At the rear, there are prominent lights tied together with a single decorative strip.placeholder image

Inside, there appears to be a similar design to the one you’ll find in recent Skoda models such as the Elroq and Enyaq. A prominent infotainment screen sits in the middle of the dashboard, while a series of toggle switches underneath this display help to give quick control to certain settings when you’re on the move.

All will be fully revealed when the Skoda Epiq makes its debut on May 19.
