RIP: Tributes paid to a 'true gentleman' following the passing of Carlow man

Pat Byrne - Tinryland, Carlow - Friday 2nd May 2025

Tributes have been paid following the passing of Pat Byrne of Spindlewood, Tinryland, Carlow.

Pat passed away on May 2nd 2025.

Adoring husband of Frances (Franny, née Moore), beloved father of Chloe and Joseph, cherished Ga-ga of Finn and Davin and much loved son of Kathleen and the late Pat Byrne, Ballinabranna.

Sadly missed by his heartbroken wife, son, daughter, mother, brothers Ciarán and Fergal, sister Jacqueline, grandchildren, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Tributes have been paid in the condolences section of Rip.ie and read as follows: 

"Sincere condolences to Franny Chloe and Joseph and the extended Byrne Family on the sudden passing of Pat.. Pat was a lovely man, a true gentleman ..
May the many happy memories you have offer some comfort in the days to come
Rest in peace Pat ."

Another reads:

"Deepest and heartfelt sympathy to Frances, Chloe, Joseph, and all of the family. I met you all when I first moved over from America, Frances and Pat welcomed me into their family, I remember lovely evenings having dinner, talking about similar historical interests, conversations with Pat, and Frances, Chloe and Joseph, times I will always treasure. Such a kind, generous, and loving man. Over the years, I adjusted to Ireland because of the Byrne family in Tinryland. Rest in Peace dear Pat."

Funeral Arrangements

Reposing in R. Healy & Son Funeral Home Pollerton Castle, Carlow on Wednesday, (May 7th) from 3.30pm concluding with prayers at 7.30pm. Removal from his home on Thursday morning at 10.30am to St. Joseph’s Church, Tinryland to arrive for funeral Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
