RIP: Immense heartbreak in Carlow as man with 'a heart of gold' has died suddenly

Tributes have poured in following the tragic, sudden death of a man from Carlow who will be missed greatly by many people. 

Mark Holmes from 25 Gortnahowan, Tullow and formerly Tinryland, Co. Carlow died suddenly on 23rd March, 2026.

Sadly missed by his heartbroken partner Jacinta and her daughter Chloe, his daughter Amy, parents Vera and John, brothers James and David, sister Jenny, Jacinta’s parents, uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives and friends.

Heartfelt messages have been left on RIP.ie, from those who knew and fondly remembered Mark, with one mourner writing,

"Sorry for your loss may Mark rest in peace. Condolences to all the family at this sad time.. Great memories over the years with Mark as we all hung out together in our school years and Mark was a great friend always up for the laugh. RIP Mark".

Another message said, "Sincere condolences to Jacinta & Family. Mark was a character with a heart of gold. Thinking of you all, rest easy Mark".

"Mark was a lovely chap, we grew up together as children in Tinryland. Great fond memories of our childhood & school together. May Mark rest in peace," another person said.
