The HurtNI’s Annual ‘Paws for Thought’ Dog Walk takes place on Saturday, 24th June this year leaving from Destined (Foyle Road) at 11.00am.
Speaking this week, Event organiser Leeanne Doherty said she would love to building on the 100 dogs and their walkers that took part in the 2022 event.
The event will see participants taking part on a 5k walk out the city’s famous ‘Line’ and all monies will go towards mental health awareness and raise money for HURT.
Leanne appealed for walkers and their dogs to turnout on the day and support this worthwhile charity.
"Walking our fur babies has great physical and mental health benefits and this summer we, at HURT, appeal to all the local community – let’s exercise, chat and socialise again, and bring your dogs!
"The event is only £12 to sign up for and this can be done simply through Eventbrite.com. Those participating will also get a doggy bag filled with lovely goodies. I would love to try and beat last year’s 100 dogs participating so I appeal to the people of the north-west to grab the leash and come and join us."
There will also be raffles and treats on the day with doggy pictures included and River Radio will be in attendance too. Anyone requiring further information is asked to contact Leanne Doherty (organiser) on 02871 369696 or email leanne@hurtni.org.
