Councillor Patricia Logue is Sinn Féin’s nominee for the Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District Council.
Cllr Logue has vowed to be a "Mayor for All" and said she was determined to work together to transform the district.
Sinn Féin's longest serving councillor in Derry and Strabane, Cllr Logue was first elected to Council in 2005.
Speaking after her nomination, Mayor, Patricia Logue said: “It is a real honour and privilege to be selected as Sinn Féin’s nominee for the next Mayor of Derry & Strabane.
“I am determined to be a Mayor for All, and to work together to lead positive change for every single citizen across our city and district.
“To deliver first-class council services and ensure workers and families are supported through the cost of living.
“Derry and Strabane have huge potential to grow and thrive. And as a council area, we must seize the huge economic opportunities available to us to transform this city, create jobs and strengthen the local economy."
Cllr Logue described Derry as a "vibrant city. She added: "It is brimming with talent and diversity. It is important that we celebrate and showcase that to the world through the office of the Mayor.
“We must all work together to build a better, brighter future for the next generation. That will be my focus as Mayor of this wonderful city and district.”
