Declan Gartland, 37 Beechland Gardens, Clady

The death has taken place of Declan Gartland, 27th April 2024, (suddenly but peacefully), 37 Beechland Gardens, Clady and formerly Mullingar, Westmeath, beloved husband of Edel (née Loughlin), much loved father of Oisín, Grace, Jarlath and Moya, loving son of Desmond and Imelda and dear brother of Alan and Michelle. Declan’s wake and funeral arrangements have yet to be finalised, we will update them here as soon as they become available. Deeply regretted by his sorrowing wife, sons, daughters, father, mother, brother, sister, father in law Kevin, mother in law Philomena, brothers in law, sisters in law and all the family circle. Celine Harley (née Martin), 75 Central Avenue, Portstewart

The death has taken place of the late Celine Harley (née Martin), 26th April 2024, 75 Central Avenue, Portstewart, dearly loved wife of Dr. James Harley, much loved mother of Dearbhla, Áine, Clare, Conor and the late Padraic and Seamus, dear mother-in-law to Ita, David, Dominic and Des. Devoted Granny to Seana, Patrick, Philippa, William, Thomas, Catherine, Jarlath, Peter, Tom and Hugh. Removal from her home on Monday at 6.30pm to St. Mary’s Star of the Sea Church. Requiem Mass on Tuesday at 12.00noon followed by interment in Agherton Cemetery. Family and friends welcome to her home from 3.00pm today (Sunday). Flowers or Donations in lieu of flowers for Marie Curie Nurses c/o Mrs Mona Murdock, 31, Bushmills Road, Coleraine. Deeply regretted and very sadly missed by her loving family and entire family circle. St. Padre Pio pray for her.

 

Mary Florence Kelly (née Martin), 23 Blackstone Park, Magheramason

The death has taken place of the late Mary Florence Kelly (née Martin), 27th April 2024, peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital, (surrounded by her loving family in her 96th year) much loved wife of the late William (Liam), dearly loved mother of Mark and Paul, dearest mother-in-law of Cecilia and Marcella, adored nanny Kelly of Kathy, Christopher, Reece, Alexander and Harvey. A Service of Thanksgiving for her life will take place in her late home, 23 Blackstone Park, Magheramason on Monday, 29th April at 1.00pm, followed by burial in Ballyoan Cemetery. Family home private. Family flowers only please, donations in lieu if desired to Christ Church c/o Miss R. Wilson, 8, Richmond Crescent, Derry BT48 7PQ. James (Jimmy Snow) Mullan, 149A Craigmore Road, Kiltest

We regret to inform you of the passing of James (Jimmy Snow) Mullan, (Kiltest, Ringsend), died 27th April 2024. Funeral arrangements will be updated when they become available. Late of 149A Craigmore Road, Kiltest. Son of the late Mary and beloved brother of John and the late Annie O’Kane. Our Lady of Knock pray for him. Deeply regretted by his cousin and lifelong friend Frank (Bill Snow) Mullan.

 

Joe McGeady, 27 Thorndale, Derry

The death has taken place of Joe McGeady, 26th April 2024, beloved husband of Peggy, 27 Thorndale, formerly of Waterfoot Park, loving father of Vashti, Kieran, Kirsty and Leanne, father-in-law of Chris, Clebea and Gio, a devoted grandfather and dear brother of Carol, Maureen and the late Robert and Danny and a much loved uncle. Joe will be reposing in his home today (Sunday) from 4.00pm to 8 00pm. Funeral service on Monday in The Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints at 1.00pm. Interment afterwards in Ballyoan cemetery. Returned with honour.

 

May McGrellis (née Carlin), 13 Springvale Park, Derry

The death has occurred of the late May McGrellis (née Carlin), 27th April 2024, at Deanfield Nursing Home, beloved wife of the late Tony, loving mother of Geraldine, Patricia and Cathair, mother-in-law of George, Damian and Paula, much loved grandmother of Patrick, Niall, Rebecca, Conor, Donal, Aiofe and Ciara and dear sister of Rev. Fr. Sean S.J., Rev. Brother Pearse, Veronica, Peter, Seamus, Siobhan and the late Noel, Eamonn, Terence, Betty, and Brian. Her remains will be reposing in her home. Funeral from her home, 13 Springvale Park, on Monday at 9.30am for 10o’clock requiem mass in St. Eugene’s Cathedral. Interment afterwards in The City Cemetery. Family flowers only please, donations in lieu if wished to Alzheimer’s Society. Queen of the most Holy Rosary pray for her.

 

John “Johnny“ McWilliams (Sammy), Draperstown

We regret to inform you that the death has taken place of John “Johnny“ McWilliams (Sammy) peacefully at home on 26th April 2024. May he rest in peace. Late of Ballinascreen Fold, Draperstown, Co Derry. Loving father of Pauline (Mickey), Sean (Michelle), Michelle (Paul), Majella (John), Declan (Trish), Deirdre (Gary), Mark, Elaine (Brian), Roger and Michael (Lizzie). Son of the late Ellen and John R.I.P and dear brother of Mary, Rose, Pat, Tony, James, Eugene and the late Colm and Michael R.I.P. Deeply regretted by his daughters, sons, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, grandchildren, great grandchildren, Tishy and the entire family circle. Wake will take place at his daughters home, 35B Kilrea Road, Maghera, Co Derry. Family time 10.00pm to 11.00am and morning of funeral. Funeral will take place on Monday, 29th April leaving at 9.50am for 11.00am Requiem Mass in St Eugene’s Church, Moneyneena. Interment immediately afterwards in the adjoining graveyard. Roger O'Kane, Ardmore

The death has occurred of the late Roger O'Kane, 27th April 2024, beloved son of the late John James and Margaret, Ardmore Bridge, loving brother of Denis, Liam, James, Edward, Finvola, Sheila, Bridget, Martha, Mary and the late John, Hugh, Peter and Rosaleen and a much loved brother-in-law, uncle and great-uncle. Roger will be reposing in his sister Bridget’s home, Ballybogie Road, Ardmore, from 4.00pm on Sunday. He will be removed from there on Monday at 6.30pm to St Mary’s Church, Ardmore for Requiem Mass on Tuesday at 11o’clock. Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on his soul.
