A man has appeared at Derry Magistrate's Court charged with breaching a restraining order.
James Doherty (34) of no fixed abode was charged with the offence that occurred on October 24 after a grandmother phoned the police concerned about the welfare of her granddaughter.
The court heard that there was a history of domestic violence between Doherty and the granddaughter in question and police discovered Doherty in the bedroom of the address.
Doherty accepted that he'd breached the restraining order but said that the injured party had called him to talk.
Defense Barrister Sinead Rogan said that it had been accepted that the injured party had been the one to make contact but added that Doherty accepted that he should not have been there.
