Memorable week for Derry's Oakleaf ABC!

It has been quite the week for Oakleaf ABC, who enjoyed superb success at the recent Ulster Championships in Raphoe, coming away with two goals medals and one silver medal.

Joshua Cairns 44kg defeated his old foe in Mark Harte C’more in an enthralling contest.

This was a superb bout between two very good boys who produced a brilliant display of boxing. In the end it was the Oakleaf boxer who took it 3-2 for a very well deserved win.

Martin Ward 46kg was always in control of his contest with Jake Agnew Tullylish, taking it on a 5-0 unanimous points win.

Lucas McIvor was unlucky as he had to settle for Silver in a very tight contest, which could have gone either way.

Unfortunately the judges scores did not reflect the nature of the bout, but he could still hold his head high for his efforts.

Insisting it was the best sparring she has ever done Carleigh and her team mates were also able to take some time off to enjoy the sights, with the young boxers taking in the magnificent Great Wall of China whilst there. 2025 is already set to be a hugely exciting year for Carleigh and everyone at oakleaf and this is just the start of it.
