Mahon brings a wealth of coaching experience from his time in academy and senior football across the North West region.
He takes the helm following a period of significant success for the club, which secured a historic treble in the 2024/25 season, winning the Premier Intermediate League, the O'Gorman Cup, and the Crawford Cup.
"We’re excited for the journey ahead and look forward to what Mo will bring to the team," a spokesperson for the club said. "Welcome to Strabane AFC, Mo!"
Mahon first started coaching at Foyle Harps with John Shiels back in 2010, but eventually joined the Candystripes in 2019, taking charge of the U17s before moving on to manage the U19s.
His proven track record, particularly with youth development at Derry City and his recent senior management experience, aligns perfectly with the club's ambitions to build on their recent successes.
Mahon previously served as assistant manager under Kevin Deery at Institute before taking his first senior management role at Portstewart FC in October 2024. He resigned from his position at Portstewart earlier this month.
Mahon succeeds Raymond Foy, who recently stepped down as manager after a successful tenure that included leading the team to promotion and the historic treble.
