Local MP picks up County Derry product at Westminster

East Derry MP Gregory Campbell was among the first in line to pick up a local product on sale near Westminster.

East Derry MP Gregory Campbell has welcomed the news that a product made within his constituency is now available on the shelves of Parliaments' Shops in the Parliamentary estate in London.

The local representative was 'pleased' to discover the sale of County Derry man Alastair Bell's Irish Black Butter in the English capital.

“I was delighted to be contacted by Alastair Bell of Irish Black Butter fame,” said the DUP representative.

“He informed me that their award winning product was going to be made available in the Houses of Parliament Shops across the estate.

“There are tens of thousands of visitors and tourists who visit Parliament every year and there is considerable competition among those behind their own local produce across the UK to get their product in the world famous shop window in London SW1.

£I understand that since its launch in 2017 it has won numerous awards and is one of many world class products which come from the North Coast and North West of Northern Ireland.

£It is great news that Irish Black Butter is now going to feature at the heart of government, again highlighting the success story that is the wider Agri-food industry of Northern Ireland.”
