The death has taken place of Bernadette (Bernie) Sweeney (née Jennings) of Fintona, County Tyrone and Termon, Dungloe.

Beloved wife of Paud and loving mother of Brian, Colm and Johnny.
Sadly missed by all her grandchildren and friends. Reposing at Mc Glynns Funeral Home Dungloe F94 ND68 on Tuesday, August 22, from 5pm until Rosary at 8pm.

Funeral Mass on Wednesday at 11am in St. Crona's Church Dungloe with interment in Maghery Cemetery. Mass can be viewed on church services.tv St Crona's Church Dungloe.

Raymond Byrne, Creevy, Ballyshanonn

The death has occurred of Raymond Byrne, Creevy, Ballyshanonn.

Daniel (Danny) Meehan, Donegal Town

The death has taken place of Daniel (Danny) Meehan, Castle Street, Donegal Town, in his 100th year, peacefully at Donegal Community Hospital.

Predeceased by his wife Betty and grandson Daniel,

Sadly missed by his family, Ann (Kevin), Peter (Joan), Elizabeth (Charlie), Noreen (Connie), Mary,  Seamus (Karen) and Theresa (John), grandchildren, great grandchildren and his extended family.

Funeral Mass in St Patrick’s Church, Donegal Town on Wednesday at 11am with funeral immediately afterwards in Clar Graveyard.

House strictly private at all times.

Sheila McGinty (née Sharkey) of Dunlewey

The death has taken place at Letterkenny University Hospital of Sheila McGinty (née Sharkey) of Dunlewey.

Her remains will repose at her home from 7pm this evening, Monday.

Rosary nightly at 8pm.

House private until 11am.

Funeral Mass on Wednesday, August 23, at 11am in The Church of the Sacred Heart, Dunlewey, with interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Girlie Gallagher (née Drein) Letterkenny 

The sudden death has taken place of Girlie Gallagher (née Drein), 22, Muckish Ave. Letterkenny (F92 TKH7)

Predeceased by her loving husband, Hughie.

Forever cherished by her sons Troy (London) and Hugh (Dublin), daughters Antoinette (Belgium) and Kerry (Letterkenny), sons-in-law Madhu and Kevin, daughter-in-law Daisy, grandchildren Holly, Hugh and Conor, sister Josephine Parke (Letterkenny), brother Joseph (Dublin) and all her extended family, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at her late residence from 6pm, Monday, August 21 with Rosary each night at 9pm.

Family time please on the morning of the funeral.

Funeral from there on Thursday, August 24, going to St. Eunan’s Cathedral for 2pm Requiem Mass which can be viewed live on the link www.churchservices.tv/letterkenny followed by burial in the family plot in Conwal Cemetery.

Nuala Walsh, née Campbell, Cullion, Lettermacaward

The death has taken place in Donegal Hospice of  Nuala Walsh, née Campbell, Cullion, Lettermacaward (F94 NW99).
Deeply regretted by her husband Tommy, sons Kevin and James, daughter Kathy, daughters-in-law Shirley and Marianne.
Sadly missed by her brothers and sisters, relative, neighbours and friends.
Her remains will leave Shovlin’s Funeral Home, Sandfield this evening, Monday, at 4pm going to her late residence.
Funeral from there on Wednesday at 11.30am to St. Bridget’s Church, Lettermacaward  for 12am Requiem Mass with burial afterwards in the Church of Ireland Graveyard.
Family time from 11pm to 11am.

Anthony (Tony) Brosnan, Rathmullan

The death has occurred in Letterkenny University Hospital of Anthony (Tony) Brosnan, Rathmullan.

Reposing at the Letterkenny Funeral Home, Port Road, F92 P407 from 6pm to 9pm this evening, Monday.

Removal from there at 5pm tomorrow, Tuesday going to St. Joseph’s Church, Rathmullan for 6pm to repose overnight.

Funeral Mass on Wednesday at 11am followed by burial in the family plot in the adjoining cemetery.

Harold Bredin, Millbrae, Quigleys Point

The death has taken place at the Donegal Hospice of Harold Bredin, Millbrae, Quigleys Point.

Harold’s remains will leave Liam Collins’ Funeral Home, Station Road, Carndonagh, F93 E4FN at 7pm this evening, Monday, going to his home.

House private, please. Family cremation to take place at a later date.

No flowers please. Donations if desired to the Donegal Hospice.

Anna Duffy, Loughanure, Annagry

The death has occurred of Anna Duffy, Loughanure, Annagry.

Her remains will are reposing at her home today, Monday, August 21, and tomorrow, Tuesday, August 22, from 11am. Rosary nightly at 8pm, with house private please from after the Rosary, and on the morning of the Funeral.

Funeral will take place on Wednesday, August 23, at 11am in the Star of the Sea Church, Annagry followed by burial in the New Cemetery.

John Kilcullen, Rahan, Letterkenny and Sligo

The peaceful death has taken place at his home of John Kilcullen, Rahan, Letterkenny F92 EHC4 and formerly from Emlymoran, Castleconnor, Sligo.

Deeply missed by his loving wife Margaret, daughter Aoife and sons Sean, Cathal and David, brother Brendan and sisters Mary, Margaret and Ursula, mother-in-law Philomena Griffin, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and a wide circle of family, friends and neighbours.

John is predeceased by his parents William and Theresa Kilcullen and his brother Michael.

John’s remains will repose at his late residence from 12noon on Monday, August 21 until 10pm and from 12 noon on Tuesday, August 22 until 10pm. Rosary both nights at 9pm. 

Funeral from there on Wednesday, August 23 at 12.15pm going to St. Eunan’s Cathedral, Letterkenny for 1pm Requiem Mass which can be viewed on www.churchservices.tv/letterkenny.  Interment afterwards in New Leck Cemetery, Letterkenny.  Family time on the morning of the funeral, please.

Dannie Langan, 54 Massinass Cottages, Creeslough

The death has occurred of Dannie Langan, 54 Massinass Cottages, Creeslough in the loving care of The Donegal Hospice.

Predeceased by his wife Ena. Beloved father to Patrick, Marie, Shaun, Eileen, Don, Caroline, Mark and Mairead.

Sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, seventeen grandchildren and two great grandchildren, his sister Bridie O’Donnell, Convent Road, Letterkenny, his extended family, neighbours and friends.

His remains are reposing at his late residence. Funeral Mass in St. Michael’s Church, Creeslough on Wednesday, August 23 at 12 noon, burial afterwards in Doe Cemetery.

Barbara Murray, née Herrity, Letterkenny

The death has taken place at Beach Hill Manor Nursing Home, Lisfannan, Buncrana on Saturday, August 19 of Barbara Murray, née Herrity, 4 Slieve Sneacht Road, Letterkenny.

Deeply missed by her loving son Joe. Barbara is predeceased by her husband Cathal and daughter Siobhan.

Barbara’s remains will repose at The Eternal Light Chapel of Rest, Mountain Top, Letterkenny F92 XE35 from 5pm to 6.30pm on Monday, August 21, with removal directly afterward to St. Eunan’s Cathedral, Letterkenny to repose overnight.

Funeral Mass there on Tuesday, August 22 at 2pm which can be viewed on www.churchservices.tv/letterkenny.

Interment afterwards in New Leck Cemetery, Letterkenny.

Claire Hannigan (née Ronaghan), Letterkenny

The death has occurred at LUH of Claire Hannigan (née Ronaghan), 3, Knocknamona Tce., Letterkenny (F92 Y7TH).

Predeceased by her husband John, daughter Adrienne Kearns (Lismonaghan), sister Patricia O’Donnell (Lifford) and brother Michael Ronaghan.

Deeply regretted by her son Damien and his wife Maria (San Francisco), son-in-law John Kearns, sister Ann McGeehan (Tullygay), grandchildren Darcy, Ethan and Shane, in-laws, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at her late residence on Monday, August, 21, from 12 noon to 9pm with Rosary at 9pm.

Coleman’s remains are reposing at his daughter Sandra’s residence at Carrick Brae, Carndonagh, F93 YWO3.

Requiem Mass on Tuesday, August 22 in the Church of Sacred Heart Carndonagh at 11am. Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

The death has occurred of Seamus Mc Devitt, Barrack, Glenswilly F92 NPDO, who passed away in the loving care of the Donegal Hospice, Barrack, Newmills, Glenswilly. Beloved Husband of Anne (née Friel) sadly missed by his loving daughters Leanne and Miliosa, grandchildren Lea, Luca and Eve and extended family.
Reposing at his late residences from 12pm – 10pm Monday, August 21.

Sadly missed by his brothers Frank, Tadhg and Eamon, sisters Mai and Anne, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and extended Family.

Reposing at his residence on Monday, August 21 from 11am to 10pm. Removal on Tuesday at 10.30am to St Mary of the Visitation Church, Killybegs, for 11am Funeral Mass. Burial afterwards in the local cemetery.

The death has taken place in Letterkenny University Hospital of  Charles Gallagher, Glasgow and Meenaleck, Crolly. Predeceased by his son Columba and his brothers; Patrick, Eddie, Maurice and John. Sadly missed by his loving wife Nuala, daughter Charlotte, sons, Maurice and John, brothers, Fr. Neil and Noel, in-laws, Eamonn, Sharon and Kathleen, grandchildren; Joanne, John, Sarah, Adam, Emily, Aidan, Caitlin, Erin, Connor, 5 great grandchildren and extended family and friends.

His remains will repose at his home. Rosary nightly at 8pm. House private after rosary and on the morning of the funeral. Funeral Mass on Tuesday, August 22 at 11am in St. Mary's Church Derrybeg, with interment afterwards in Magheragallon cemetery. Most Reverend Bishop Emeritus Liam S MacDaid, Monaghan, Donegal, Dublin and Fermanagh

The death has occurred of Most Reverend Bishop Emeritus Liam S MacDaid, Monaghan, Donegal, Dublin and Fermanagh. Bishop Emeritus of Clogher Diocese. Predeceased by his parents William and Mary Ellen.

A native of Bundoran he will be sadly missed by his brother Christopher, Bishop Larry Duffy, Bishop Emeritus Joseph Duffy and the priests, deacons, religious and the people of Clogher Diocese.

Annie Prosser/McLoone, UK and Glenties

The death has occurred of Annie Prosser/McLoone, Tamworth, UK and formerly, Glenties. Beloved wife of Johnny. Predeceased by her brothers Phillip, Sean, Al, Frank and sister Rose.

Sadly missed by her nieces Genevieve and Rosita and their extended families.

Mass at 1pm on August 22 in St John's Catholic Church, Tamworth, followed by Cremation at 2.30pm in Suttoncoldfield.
