Celia Kearns, left, in Glasgow on Friday for the charity zipline
Celia Kearns from Burnfoot took part in a fundraiser in Glasgow to raise funds for the Multiple Sclerosis Society as her friend Elaine Logue was diagnosed with MS in January.
Elaine, who is from Carndonagh, moved to Scotland six years ago and watched on as Celia, who plays GAA for Burt ladies and is an Aileach FC underage coach, took to a zipline across the River Clyde with a few nerves jangling, she later admitted.
“I was so nervous but once I got in and on the zipline and over to the other side I was safe and sound,” Celia said afterward. “I came here after a lot of inspiration from Elaine to do this for MS after she was diagnosed, to raise some awareness. It’s so hard to live with MS so we thought we could do something. This is nothing compared to what Elaine has to go through and she would do the same for us.”
If you would like to donate to the charity, you can do so on ‘Celia, Carla & Jill’s fundraiser for Multiple Sclerosis Society’ on Just Giving. To date, over £2,000 has been raised.
