New pump station for Stranorlar estate welcomed by Cllr Patrick McGowan

Donegal County Council's Taking in Charge team has confirmed that a new pump station for the Ash Meadows estate, Drumboe, Stranorlar is out to tender and due back by October 6.

 

This improvement work when completed will allow the estate to be taken over by the council.

 

The news has been welcomed by local councillor, Patrick McGowan, who has been campaigning for improvements for a number of years.

 

It emerged last year that the council had spent more than €63,000 on removing sludge from a sewage treatment plant after residents complained of  “an ongoing foul smell”.

"I would like to thank the taking in charge team led by Paddy Mullen, Uisce Éireann and the residents for their patience over the last few years, said Cllr McGowan
